Chris Gipson / Gibby

Chris, or Gibby as his friends and colleagues call him, is a Red Car lifer. He joined the staff of Red Car Hollywood in June of ’94, after graduating from the UC Santa Barbara Film Studies Program the prior year. Starting as a runner, Gibby then moved through the ranks of apprentice and assistant editor working with some of the greats, like Larry Bridges, Rob Watzke and Jonathan Del Gatto. In 1999, a year after Red Car moved from Hollywood to Santa Monica, Gibby began editing music videos for Marcus Nispel and by June of 2000 he was officially added to the Red Car editorial roster. Over the next few years Gibby cut spots for such brands as Lexus, Budweiser, Mattel, Lincoln-Mercury, and Honda, while his music videos credits included such artists as Big Pun (w/ Fat Joe), Bryan Adams & Bone Thugs-n-Harmony.

On April 1st of 2004, after having cut a few spots at Red Car Dallas as a visiting editor, Gibby was asked if he would be willing to relocate to the Dallas office. After a few weeks of careful thought and Gibby promising his wife that the move would “only be for a year” Gibby and his wife agreed and in August 2004 they made the big move from their home in South Pasadena. Since his arrival to Red Car Dallas, Gibby has worked with several agencies on spots for Southwest Airlines, JCPenney, Hyundai, Pfizer, Mercedes-Benz, Lowe’s, Pizza Hut, AT&T, and Nissan.

When Gibby is not working he enjoys spending time with his wife Liz, and their Texas born twin daughters Sarah and Emma. His wife still wonders when “the year” will end.
